Who We Become Journal is operated by Veronica Murphy. We provide a digital journaling and guided reflection experience through our website and mobile application. This policy describes the information involved when you use the service, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information: The email address and authentication information you provide to create and access an account. Password authentication is handled by our account service; we do not need your password to provide support.
- Journal content: Reflections, answers to guided questions, entry titles and dates, and content you choose to write or import.
- Uploaded memories: Photographs, audio recordings, videos, and associated file information that you choose to attach to your journal.
- Preferences: Your selected appearance settings and color palettes, which may be saved in your account or on your device.
- Membership and billing information: Your subscription status and identifiers needed to recognize your membership. Website payments are processed by Stripe; payment card details are collected by the payment provider, not entered into your journal.
- Technical information: Information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website and app, which may include device/browser characteristics, request information, and service logs.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, save and display your private journal, synchronize content across supported devices, provide media attachments and guided reflections, apply appearance preferences, manage membership access and billing, respond to support requests, and protect and maintain the service.
Where information is stored and processed
We use Supabase for account authentication, journal data, and private media storage; Stripe for website subscription payments and billing management; and Netlify for website hosting and related server functions. These providers process information as needed to supply their services. Some processing or storage may occur outside your state or country.
Your journal and privacy
Your journal entries and uploaded memories are intended to be private to your account, not visible to other journal users. We do not sell your journal entries or uploaded memories. We do not use private journal content for advertising. Authorized service providers may process information to operate the service, and limited access may be necessary for security, troubleshooting, or legal compliance.
No internet service can promise absolute security. Please avoid entering information that you would not be comfortable storing online and maintain your own backup of important writing and memories.
Billing and subscriptions
Subscription checkout for the website is handled by Stripe. We receive information about whether a membership is active and its billing period so we can unlock subscribed features. You can access billing management from My Account. Subscription availability and payment methods may depend on your app storefront and location.
Retention and deletion
We retain account information, journal entries, and uploaded content while your account is active, and as reasonably necessary to operate the service or meet legal and security obligations. You can delete individual entries or attachments within the journal. You can request permanent account deletion using My Account → Delete account in the app or website. This process is designed to delete your account, journal entries, and uploaded media and cancel linked subscriptions. Some transaction records may remain with payment providers where required by law, and temporary backups or logs may persist for limited periods under provider retention practices.
Your choices
- Review, edit, and delete your own journal entries and attachments.
- Export your written journal entries as a JSON file. Media attachments must currently be downloaded individually.
- Update your account password or appearance preferences.
- Manage your subscription and request account deletion through My Account.
- Contact us about access, correction, deletion, or other privacy questions.
Children's privacy
Who We Become Journal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the date above when revisions are posted. Significant changes may be communicated through the service or by other appropriate means.
